# 3 Self Report - Teaching Plan (Of My Major)

TEACHING PLAN

The teachers in USHS make their lesson plan following the National Curriculum from the Department of Education. The curriculum contains core learning area standard, key stage standard, grade level standards, strands per quarter, spiraling of concepts and the matters per grading period. Those elements are included in the class activities which are:

a)      Engage:

·         Student interest is piqued.

·    Students make connections with prior experience and understanding is connected

b)     Explore:

·          Students explore the concept through hands-on activities.

·         Identify real questions.

·         Develop a hypothesis and test variables.

c)      Explain:

·         The direct instruction phase presented in a collaborative fashion.

·         Vocabulary is defined.

·         Concepts are explained.

d)     Elaborate:

·         Generalizations about the new learning is applied to previous investigations.

·         New hypotheses are tested to draw conclusions.

e)      Evaluate: 

·         Students evaluate their own learning and prove what they know in writing, conversations, and demonstration
